IN MEMORY OF LARRY PIESCO

On Father's Day, June 16, 2002, Larry Piesco lost his life. Larry was an inspiration to me in my youth and I will never forget his character and influence on his assistance to help me, then a trouble youth about thirty odd years ago. There is no value that can be put on Larry Piesco lost. In these days we must remember the good deeds and actions by dedicated police officers such as Larry Piesco. Larry worked as Police Officer for the City of Los Angeles for twenty years. Recently the media seems to focus on the negative acts of certain officers while ignoring the endless acts and good deeds by other officers. There are are words or books to Mr. Piesco's actions which helped thousands through their everyday problems for two decades. He may have been the officer who helped your grandmother, after her home was broken in to. Making her fill secure, Larry was just that kind of guy. There are countless of other stories, yet we may never hear them. Please, let us not forget the good! Larry Piesco served his country sincerely for twenty years and gave nothing but 110 percent helping others. Larry was due to retire in two weeks. It was not a criminal who took his life, yet it was an accident. Yes, even Police Officers are the victims. Proudly the Chief of Police of Los Angeles spoke before many dedicated officers and friends at the service of Larry Piesco. God Bless you Larry you will be missed by many!
