For every two gallons of gas, everyone of the 250 million Americans are taking out a square cubic foot of the earth. For it takes seven gallons of oil to make two gallons of gasoline, roughly.

For JET FUEL it takes a barrel of oil to produce 3 to 4 gallons of Jet Fuel.
Yes, the back-to-back earthquakes that struck Venezuela happened generally in the northern coastal areas near where the country's oil infrastructure operates. The twin quakes (magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5) hit along the northern boundary where the Caribbean and South American tectonic plates meet.

Flying 1,000 miles requires between 100 and 6,000 gallons of jet fuel, depending heavily on the aircraft size. If you were to fly as the crow flys to Australia it would require enough fuel for 14,000 miles seven thousand miles each way. The total oil use would be about 4,666 barrels of oil each barrel has 50 gallons of oil. A barrel of oil is almost 7 cubic square feet of space from our earth.

A 12,000-mile flight, then, requires 80,000 gallons of fuel. Divided among equally among the passengers, How much space of cubic space has the world taken out for the past 100 years?

Commercial Airliners: A typical narrow-body jet (like an Airbus A320 or Boeing 737) burns about 1,500 to 2,000 gallons. Per passenger, this averages out to just 3 to 5 gallons per mile.

Private Jets: A smaller, light private jet (like a Citation) will burn roughly 100 to 150 gallons per hour, using about 400 to 600 gallons for a 1,000-mile trip. Larger private jets require 1,200 to 1,500 gallons.

Small Propeller Planes: A general aviation, single-engine aircraft (like a Piper or Cessna) will use only 75 to 125 gallons for that same distance.
So when you see people complaining about long waits at the airport Do Not feel sorry for them.

Venezuela primarily drills for oil in two major regions: the onshore Orinoco Belt (housing the world's largest recoverable reserves) and the lake and coastal areas of Lake Maracaibo.

1. The Orinoco Oil Belt (Faja Petrolífera del Orinoco)
Located in central-eastern Venezuela (spanning the states of Guárico, Anzoátegui, Monagas, and Delta Amacuro), this is an onshore mega-field holding the bulk of the country's vast extra-heavy crude reserves. [1, 2, 3]

Key Fields: Carabobo, Junín, Ayacucho, and Boyacá.
Operators: State-run PDVSA in joint ventures with international firms like Chevron.

2. Lake Maracaibo Basin
Located in northwestern Venezuela (Zulia state), this is the country's historic petroleum heartland. Operations include both onshore wells ringing the lake and thousands of offshore oil platforms and pumpjacks directly over the water. [1, 2]
Operators: PDVSA, along with foreign operators like Chevron and France's Maurel & Prom. [1, 2]

3. Offshore Operations
While limited compared to onshore, Venezuela also explores and drills for natural gas and crude offshore.
Key Area: The Plataforma Deltana, an offshore natural gas and oil field straddling the maritime border with Trinidad and Tobago.
