S T A R 'S that crossed Bruce's path

I think of people and thought that I have been lucky to meet them and may use it in the future for an outline of a book or historical background. I may have left some out and will add then upon recalling. Living in Los Angeles area one can meet all sort of people. There are many that have slipped my memory.

Keep recalling names, places and dates. When I met the individuals I was not known to some of them. I would go into a business and story telling which inspired me to make this list. There may be an error in dates, yet not intentionally. May come up with other names and some are inter-connected with other names. Takes a while to get mind and memory in order. I have had friends who were not know to the public that were much more important to me and my memories. Yet this list helps me keep my memory in order. If you can verify any of the facts drop a letter to my address above. Had a good life with many memories. Thank you for your time. Please excuse type-o's or lack of periods etc. Bruce Adamson

I never met Paul Newman, yet was considered for adoption by Paul and his wife Joanne Woodward when they lived in Brentwood and produced three daughters.

It is a great way to begin this portion of my website for Paul Newman has done more by creating the food products Newman's Own for charity than when he was living. I've been told that Newman's Own is run by his daughter. It was 1971, yet casa sera sera. I would not be the same person that I am today. A self taught genealogist and learned on my own most of the family connections on my website.

I would never have learned of my ancestors which led to forty years of digging into my family history. Henry Bidwell Ely, who built the Astoria half of The Waldorf-Astoria Hotel is seen with his wife Lillian Easton Kissam on his shoulder. Henry is photographed with his sister Agnes and brother Leonard Ely who would become a doctor at Stanford and marry the daughter of Ray Lyman Wilbur the second dean of Stanford and in charge of the Stanford hospital. Had I been adopted by Paul Newman, I would have never learned of history of my family. Of Henry's life nor his father's George W. Ely, who was secretary of the New York Stock Exchange from 1874 until 1919. Henry as you can see, looked a bit like Paul Newman. To the right is Henry's son Sarg. George W. Ely, cited for his service in World War One "Silver Star" citation. Ely was gassed on the Hindenberg Line on same day as Adolf Hitler was also gassed. Ely was knocked out for two weeks and almost died. Had he I would not be here today.
